The Charity
Some secrets aren’t meant to be told
"There is always something happening in Roche Harbor…the investigation into the new man in town, an elderly couple scamming others, the widow of the previous chief fearing for her life and the missing children."

Police Chief Mark Friessen along with his wife social worker Billy Jo McCabe keep a watchful eye on their small island town in the Pacific Northwest. As the couple come to grips with the hub of crime by the political elite that had turned what they’d believed to be a quiet sleepy island into a playground for the rich and powerful, a young executive of a major international charity moves to Roche Harbor. Mark and Billy Jo once again find themselves digging deep into the secrets and lies that seem to trail this man, but what they uncover is a twisted truth they may wish they’d never looked into.
Newlyweds Mark and Billy Jo are back home in small town Roche Harbor and settling into their life as a married couple at the same time are still coming to grips with the realities of evil that had tried to weave it’s web into their small island community. Police Chief Mark Friessen keeps a watchful eye on all the residents and who comes and goes on his island. But when a stranger buys a large property on the west side of the island, Police Chief Mark Friessen shows up on his doorstep to find out the reasons he moved to the island.
Only Walter Crandall wants to keep a low profile, and to be left alone. He has a five year old daughter and an ex-wife on the island who owns the local bar. He says he’s made mistakes and wants a chance to make amends. Only there is something about the man that Mark doesn’t trust. But when Mark and Billy Jo begin digging into this man’s past and the Charity he was part of, what they uncover is a deception that is so twisted both Mark and Billy Jo are convinced it couldn’t possibly be true.
